"2009 Top 20 Best in KLAS Awards: Software & Professional Services" Category Leader in Other Process Outsourcing
 |
Alpha Systems was included in the 2008 "Top 20 Best in KLAS Awards: Software & Professional Services" report. The KLAS Top 20 Best in KLAS Awards reports give an
overview of performance ratings for vendors offering software, professional services and medical equipment to the healthcare industry. Best in KLAS and Category Leader
rankings celebrate vendors receiving highest provider scores. Alpha Systems received top ranking as the Category Leader in "Other Business Process Outsourcing" category,
with an overall score of 93.8 out of 100.
"We're proud of the inclusion of Alpha Systems' business process outsourcing services in this report," said Brett Griffith, president of Alpha Systems. "It is consistent
with our longstanding commitment to offer our clients the services they need to take advantage of new HIT capabilities and demands."
"Alpha Systems works with healthcare organizations to combine scanned paper records with electronic records to create a truly complete online medical record for every
patient encounter," continued Mr. Griffith. "Even in hospitals with an aggressive EMR strategy, as much as 50 percent of patient information still originates on paper."
Underlying its document scanning services - including pick-up, preparation, scanning, quality control, and customized data loading - Alpha Systems has developed a
patent-pending workflow process and software solution, which the company has been perfecting since its founding in 1975.
Alpha Systems complements its patent-pending scanning process with a robust electronic document management software solution. Alpha ImageWorks™ 9000,
which was in the early data stages of the KLAS report, offers provider organizations an enterprise-wide EDM solution or the ability to fully integrate with legacy systems
to develop a fully comprehensive electronic record. With Alpha ImageWorks™ 9000 hospital departments can have simultaneous, rapid access to patient, administrative or
financial data -- whenever they need it - enhancing cost-effective processes in health information management, patient access, patient accounting, human resources, and
medical staff and any other department.
According to Griffith, one of the reasons EMR adoption generally remains low, is that systems are difficult to use. But ease of use is one of Alpha Systems' strengths.
"The convenience is remarkable," says Dr. Christopher Pezzi, director of surgical oncology at Abington Memorial Hospital in Abington, Pennsylvania. "I've been very
impressed with the ease with which Alpha's ImageWorks lets me access medical records any time of the day or night, from any location, in the hospital, in my office,
at home. It's really made it much easier to take care of patients, and easier for the doctors as well."
"Overall, Alpha Systems converts more than one million pages per day to electronic format," says Griffith. "And we guarantee the highest service levels in the industry
in terms of accuracy and turnaround timeframes." The company exceeds that mark in another important way, too. When KLAS asked Alpha Systems customers in both market
segments where we were mentioned in the report, "Would you buy from this vendor again?" 100 percent said yes.
